Adriatic red coral on stone, made by "Zlarinka" from the island of Zlarin, is confirmed to be the best souvenir in Croatia for the year 2010.
Zlarin is an island of corals, where handmade jewelry processing of coral is still maintained. Corals are the best known Zlarin's export product.
Today, the Museum of Corals testify on the “golden days” of Zlarin's corals. In addition to museum there is a coral workshop in its original form where visitors can see the procedure of processing raw coral and the making of jewelry, as well as to buy coral jewelry. Coral center “Zlarinka” is opened in 2001 and continues the tradition of processing coral on the island of Zlarin.
During the visit to coral workshop “Zlarinka”, from the owners K.Ljuba and M.Bešker you'll learn all about the corals, its history, diving and farming. They'll also present you the procedure of grinding and processing corals in the workshop located within the KC Zlarinka.
